How to Install / Apply KakaoTalk Theme on iPhone

Many talented Korean designers customize KakaoTalk Themes with their unique style and share them on their blogs.

There are 2 ways to apply KakaoTalk themes. Frist way is through kakao Browser and the other is sending '.ktheme' file to My Chatroom.

 

Way 1. Through Kakao Browser

 

1. send the URL of the site where you can download kakaotalk theme file to me

 

 

2. by clicking the URL in kakaotalk chatroom, go to the site through the kakao browser.
kakao browser: you can see the little kakao icon next to the address bar. 

 

 

3. .ktheme file is for kakao theme for iPhone and iPad. click .ktheme file

 

 

4. click View Themes.

 

 

5. It automatically links you to setting > themes in kakaotalk. Scroll down the page to the section of Custom Themes, You can find the theme that you've downloaded. Check the theme you want to apply.

 

 

6. Exit the settings window.

 

9. Well done! KakaoTalk theme has been successfully applied!

Way 2 Sending '.ktheme' File to Me

 

1. '.ktheme' file is for kakao theme for iPhone and iPad. Press '.ktheme' file to download.

2. 'Do you want to download "~.ktheme"? > Press 'Download'

3. Press the button at the address bar to notify you of the completion of the download.

 

4. Press 'Downloads'

 

6. Press downloaded ktheme file on the Downloads list.

 

 

7. Press the share icon

8. Press KakaoTalk button

9. Check my profile on the friend list

10. Press OK to send '.ktheme' file to my chatroom

11. Press '.ktheme' file once to install.

12. Press '.ktheme' file once more to apply

13. Press 'Apply Theme' button.

 

14. Well done! KakaoTalk theme has been successfully applied!

How to Fix Chatroom Background Error

 

Very often, when applying the KakaoTalk theme, there is an error that the background image isn't applied.

 

 

Press the menu at the top of the chatroom.

 

 

 

Press the gear-shaped setting icon.

 

 

 

Scroll down the page, press 'Wallpaper' in the Chatroon section.

 

 

 

 

Choose 'Apply Default Wallpaper' option.

 

 

 

Press 'Reset' button.

 

 

Press '<' button at the top to exit.

 

 

 

Now the background has been set to the theme background.
